When I did sales, I’ve learnt about fear of loss.
“You don’t know what you have until it’s gone” pretty much sums it up. Whenever you see or hear “it’s the last pair”, last day of sale, offer ends in, limited spots.. all these are phrases are used to “fear of loss” the customers and inspire them to take action.
I didn’t think it had anything to do with relationship until one day.
Me and Justin had a fight. He made an attempt to reconcile. But I wasn’t ready. When he was walking out of the door, a thought came so loud and clear. What if that is the last time you see him? What if something happens to him and you didn’t hug or kiss him because of your stubbornness?
Let’s just say the argument finished right there and then.
What if we fear of loss ourselves in our relationship? What if today was the last day you saw your partner – what would you change? Would you forgive quicker? Would you be more loving? Would you show appreciation? Would you swallow a complaint? Would you surprise them with a thoughtful action? What would you do?
Fear of loss yourself every day. Because one day it will be the last.
